Hello Bishop!
Its great to hear from you and that is a wonderful success story! helping the rest of the ward to see that success will definitely help the fire of missionary work to grow within the ward!
Sand Creek is just pumping out missionaries these days! what a wonderful blessing for the ward to be able to help support such great kids going on missions. if i could offer 1 piece of advice. when the missionaries become part of the ward that is truely when work gets done at 100% both sides are comfortable and work just happens naturely! ive been in wards that are cold shouldered to the missionaries and that makes it hard on both sides of the fence and does not really help the Lords work move forward. Focus on PMG and the Book of Mormon with all the youth. these days if kids are not up to speed on either they will be playing alot of catch up like i had to do. its alot less stressful when you have it down a little better.
California is great! dont know if the weathers better than so cal but its good. winter was a cakewalk. the people here are so different. very professional and smart. not good for a small mind like mine haha but like my patrartical blessing says ill be sent to foreign lands that will require me to learn another language. that is definitely true! totally different language out here. plus the demographics are so extreme. but the work is truely amazing to see. even in the most unusual places it finds ways to be shared and spread. the Gospel is an amazing blessing to know and its even more of a blessing to share it. i hope that all in our ward will catch that fire. it will change there lives and it will put the biggest smile on their faces. i promise! you know and i know that missionary work gives wonderful experiences and will bless generations and generations. keep the missionaries in your back pocket they want to work and giving them a little narrower window helps alot! I hope to hear from yal soon!

Hey mom,
haha I have Dad's writing genes.... it's crazy how hard it is to write. but I do it just for you ;)
yeah am soooooo busy, I never have time to write sis smith. but that's probably for the better. She could talk more about others that need the praise ;)
So we are working super hard to get the work moving in this area. I'm bumping heads with the ward mission leader..... he is super stubborn and it's either his way or no way. Ketywan and I have great ideas but nothing ever happens because this guy doesn't like em.... it's frustrating. So we just skip him and go straight for the bishop :) Next week is testimony meeting and we're gonna bear ours every fast Sunday we are here! Hopefully it'll help the members catch the fire of missionary work.
So this week we got thrown into a car share which bites because we don't live in our ward area and our ward area is 17 miles across.... at the shortest point, while the ward we are sharing with is 7 miles at the longest point.... not happy but I guess I'll get in shape more.
So last night for dinner, we went to a Filipino family and convinced them that we had no idea what rice was. It was so funny to see them go into a huge explanation of it and we just busted up laughing! It was sooo funny! We also convinced em that I was from Vanuatu and just lost my tan and that Ketywan was from Colorado...... it was hilarious! I love my companion..... we make everything fun but when it's time to get spiritual, we can snap into it and speak by the Spirit with power and authority. It is so cool to see.
Life on a mission is sooo fun....... I love every second of it!
Had interviews with pres and it was awesome! We talked about everyone in the district and a few others I came out with and how to help them. My interview wasn't even about me lol but it was amazing because now I can see areas to help others.
Got this thing from Elder Carter called a slendertone. It basically zaps your abs to make em strong and Ketywan already had one, so 1 free so I took it :) and 2 at night we just turn up the power til one of us can't take it anymore..... oh man it's so funny! but my abs hurt so much! haha.
So apparently milk is bad for people so Ketywan and I have cut out all milk and soda. Zero for the past 3 weeks and were eating bigger salads now. It's so weird...... but I feel good and I'm not packin on weight.

Last pday I BBQ New York's we got from a member that owns a grocery store..... o it was soooo good! pops you brushed off on me :)
well gotta run.... can't wait..... 2 weeks and I'll get to talk to yal!

8 Months Exactly!

Hey!
Right..... Tanner guy just walked past me and was like McAllister? Pueblo right? I was like what!! haha it was kinda awkward but hey small world!

8 months. idk where the time goes.... but it sure goes fast. Almost another transfer down too. I've been with Ketywan almost 5 weeks now. Where does it all go??? I'm sure it'll just go faster and faster so I'm tryin to soak up every second!!

haha so weather here was a staggering 88 degrees this week. soooo hot...... luckily we have a car so not sweatin for me:)

No new investigators. This area is just more concerned with makin a buck than findin God.

Got a call from Frank Casico from Hollister this week!  It was sooooooo nice . Apparently I'm grandma's favorite elder. Dunno why but I guess I just have a thing with old people haha it was a really nice walk down memory lane. I feel like it's been years since I've been there. So weird.

Met this ol pilot who was in WW2, Korea and Nam. And he still is as healthy as an ox. He's so funny! He gave us Top Gun and so I gave it to Ketywan who hasn't seen it and is going home in August.

MOM HAPPY BIRTHDAY! How does it feel to be 39???? I bet you are livin it up! Hope you have a wonderful dinner and some cool presents! Hopin to get the memory card off this week so you can enjoy that as my present. I love ya mom!

So I'm thinkin here in the next little while I'll need a new suit. The sleeves are like halfway to my elbow about. Not an emergency but maybe something good to start thinkin about. Pres said he's willing to pay part if we can't cover it all. So there's an extra resource if we need to use it. I mean he is worth $250,000,000...... no joke. His wallet weighs as much as a 25LB dumbbell but its just all 100s and 50s lol. He's such a lovable guy too. I have interviews with him this week I believe.

Other than that, life's pretty much the usual. Scared Ketywan in the shower by throwin matches haha..... soooo funny! We prank each other so much!

Oh so Santa Clara has this spring cleaning thing where everyone throws their junk out on the street and the city will come pick up everything. And Ketywan spotted a set of golf clubs, so now I've got a brand new bag ......tag still on it...... and some ol clubs to mess around with. Gotta love free stuff when your a missionary!! haha

Megan remember Rafiki off Lion King...... it doesn't matter, it's in the past! We learn and go forward..... not dwell in the past! Clear your mind, take a deep breath, and go for it! :)

Hope yal have a great week! love yal lots.  Hope dad's doing well.
How's Duke too?? haha

April 15, 2013....Tax Day

Hey yal,

MEGAN HECK YES!!!!!!!! I almost got thrown outta the library I yelled so loud haha. HECK YES!!! Way to go...... that's my sister! It's all up hill now. It's funny how it works in discus. It's like there's a brick wall at the 100 ft line and once you bust it wide open, you throw 100s all day long. Way to go! Keep working your chest muscles and keep nailin that technique and yal hit 120s easy this season. Way to go!!

So thanks for the money. I am getting much better. Mission helps people grow in many ways...... hopefully I got thrifty knocked into the line up of blessings.

Thanks for doing my taxes pops..... they were on my mind the past while and I was just waiting for the IRS to show up at my door lol.

This week was great with the temple! Last one in the celestial room lol it is just so peaceful and I can finally breathe. So much hustle and bustle down here.

This week is really good...... lots of good stuff starting to happen. The ward is finally liking us.! We bore our testimonies on Sunday and it was like boom night and day difference! Good things to come hopefully!

KK how is your math?

Pops how are you?....... like with everything? Been on my mind lately.

Tell Eric he is an ol fart but still meets the requirements for cool hahaha and tell him to get some mot sticks and send me the tab! I'll send a card this week

Ketywan is really from Vanuatu...... learned English on his mission. Super awesome guy! He's getting me a Lava lava when he goes home! We have so much fun together and we actually talk! It's nice to have a comp that talks lol.

Went golfing last week for pday. Super cheap up here...... 9 bucks for a bucket of 100. Really fun, really windy, so they went sky high and 20 yards forward lol. I got a few good ones in though.

Hope all is well back home.... I gotta run though ! So much work to be done in such a short amount of time! Love you all sooo much.

Read the talk by Holland called "Good Things to Come"..... probably on LDS.org. It's my absolute favorite in all history.

General Conference

Hey yal

So conference was fantastic! My goodness I loved every second of it. The best thing is next month we will get the Ensign with all the talks so we can re learn what they said. Such a wonderful thing. I totally spaced you guys were going but I'm so happy you did. I tried lookin for you but it was the sun sessions. I loved the talks..... they were so powerful.... full of the Spirit.  ahh just amazing. I find it so funny that like 3-4 conferences ago I would sleep through conference and only be interested in the food pops and I would get after priesthood. Now I'm like eating every second up. It's so funny.

Best thing about conference is temple trip!! Getta go tomorrow..... sooooooo excited.... cant wait to be in the House of the Lord. Easter 2 weeks ago, Elder Holland 3 weeks ago, ZC 4 weeks ago, GC last week and temple this week. Super jam packed few weeks with the Spirit. .....so great.

The cinnamon rolls were amazing! Me and my comp ate em up within 2 days lol
thank you so much!

So I'm still in the same place just over SC and full car :) which is the best. Our ward is like huge. 35 min to get from one side to the other. but its good. My new companion is awesome! 1st born Utahn companion and he's from Vanuatu.... Elder Ketywan. It's amazing...... don't think I've laughed this constantly since I got out on a miss. We laugh all the time now. He is hilarious and we get along great!! Just picture Rafiki in the Lion King...... that's how he laughs. soooo funny! I'm still a DL and my district is now just us and the 4 Spanish sisters. They work so hard! it really puts elders to shame.

Had a really cool experience last week. 1 of the sisters is in the middle of training and her comp is a total rock star so she's under lots of stress and asked me to give a blessing. It was so awesome. When it was finished, she said that the Lord talked about everything she was worrying about and stressed over. It was very spiritual....... just I guess opened my eyes a bit more to how important it is to be a worthy priesthood holder to bless others especially daughters of Heavenly Father. It was just a really humbling and "step up to the plate" sorta experience. It was the 1st time I really focused on not thinking about what I would say and it was amazing to see the Spirit work through me to bless her. The priesthood....... its really important and essential.

So lots of good stuff happening here and I'm truly the happiest I have ever been. Which is so weird! The ward is cold, the people are not friendly, everyone is working and we have no progressing LA or investigators and yet I'm still the happiest. Maybe it all finally clicked for me. Who knows but I love my mission and where I am now.

Hope all is well at home! and Megan lets just say I might get deported if I don't wear my ol Glory tie hahaha!! oh and I'll try and copy all the pics to a flash drive and send it home this week!

April 1st, 2013

Hey yal! wow Meg's drivin freeway??? I remember when she tried Peterson hahaha sorry Meg but I'm just shocked in a good way! your growin up!!

This past week has been pretty boring... lots of people called us to move stuff so I got a work out there and then I went on exchanges with a missionary in the Spanish ward. e. Aranda (he was in Hollister with me too) we had such a blast! he told everyone I worked for Border Patrol and a bunch of em got super nervous around me.... 1 even threatened to make me leave. It was soooo funny!!! I was dyin!! My Spanish is slowly growing too! I'm gonna be fluent before long!!

So transfers are tomorrow and I'm losin Elder Slade.... I'm gonna miss him. He doesn't really wanna be on a mission and I was finally getting through to him and pullin him outta his shell and hopefully helpin him love his mission. I'm really worried what will happen with him over the next few transfers.. make or break I think but he's such a great guy ahhh I hate transfers lol

Speaking of which, I might be moving apartments. Same area Santa Clara but different living because sisters are going to take over Lawrence Station ward so I'll be just over Santa Clara which will be a huge relief of stress lol.

So you can still send stuff because it'll be me or some other missionaries in my district so I'll still get it..... dunno if I'll move though.

haha yeah I emailed you about Sis. Johnson like 4 weeks ago hahaha her family never said anythin about me either but now I guess it changed. She's in my district..... super super cool girl!! Sadly she's gettin transferred but that's alright.... the Lord has a place for everyone at anytime. super cool sister though.

Sorry wish I had more time but were slammed today! I love yal!!

oh yeah Holland said no pics.... I was tempted though hahaha
get me the name of Dallon's MPres and I'll see if I can find her.
